If you’ve walked by Harlem Grown on our block recently, you’ve probably noticed some new construction taking place adjacent to the two-tier indoor garden house. This newest project will soon be a long-awaited working kitchen directly inside the garden!
The kitchen has been in the works for many years and has finally been approved to be built. It will provide a space for cooking demos that will utilize Harlem Grown’s harvest throughout the year and teach locals how to prepare them at home.
In addition you have probably seen what looks to be a circular alien spacecraft on the western end of the garden. Don’t fret! This is is Harlem Grown’s newest “book nook”! Once it gets finished it will house brand new books that you are welcome to sit and read peacefully in the garden!

SOOOOO, THAT’S WHAT IT IS!!! LOL I was wondering. How exciting. The garden & CHICKENS are always a highlight of my Harlem walking tours. Keep up the GREAT work. This is a wonderful resource.
